SQUASH COURT FOR THE URBAN LANDSCAPE

The project can be described as a squash pavilion exposed to the urban context, aiming to establish a dialog between sports and the city landscape. The transparent character of the courts makes the event a public phenomena, creating a relationship with a sport often hidden away from the public. The Danish city of Vejle, commissioned arkitekt David Garcia and industrial designer Martin Larsen , a feasibility study for a squash pavilion in the heart of the town, where the project would become a magnet of activity for the sports plaza, attracting cafés and events all year round. The construction of the pavilion is made of IGU panels glued directly to glass fiber beams taking advantage the both have equal expansion ratios. Arup in London carried out a climate study for the project, and Sirius A/S provided glass fiber beam experience.
